Anthony Bourdain is a chef and author who traveled around a lot and published columns and commentaries.

Rick Steves is a travel writer who's written dozens of travel books.

So, both didn't just decide one day to become travel show hosts. Because of their personalities and their experience, they were approached for it.

I agree though--they have a great job and I would love to do that.
