What kinds of food travel well?

Best answer:
Spamcanned foods.. baked beans ectYou may not be able to bring fruit into certain states (particularly Florida & california), and that would be pretty cheap to buy fresh anyway. Canned food is heavy. Look at cup of noodles, Top Ramen, vaccum packed tuna (in a bag not a can), dry soup (not canned); browse the market. You can get vacuum packed rice to heat & put soup over it with tuna for a pretty good meal. Think weight however.
